Year 10

Introduction

Welcome to Year 10. As part of the upper school our expectations of Year 10 are extremely high, especially as this year is the lead into the all-important GCSE exams. During the year all students will be mentored academically, so that any obstacles in the way of learning are recognised and strategies put in place to overcome them. We will be holding a number of drop-ins and parents’ meetings to enable you to keep us fully informed of anything that may affect your child’s progress and to allow you to ask any questions of us. We look forward to building on the successes of the lower school and working towards GCSE success.

Organisation and Staffing

In Year 10 students are organised into tutor groups in order to look after their needs in terms of personal and social development, as well as academic progress. Your child’s Personal Tutor will be your first point of contact should you have any concerns about how your child is settling at Oak Academy.

The Personal Tutors for Year 10 are:

  • Miss T Harris
