English

In English, there are two routes through KS4, Students follow the Cambridge iGCSE English Language qualification alongside the Edexcel certificate in English Literature or AQA English Language and Literature GCSEs.

These routes allow students to achieve the full range of grades at GCSE and give all students the opportunity to gain two GCSEs in English.

Students develop their ability to investigate and analyse language and are encouraged to experiment and use language creatively. The programme for the GCSE is designed to build on students’ skills from KS3 and help them prepare for their future beyond KS4, in both their vocational and academic choices.

Each half-term, students will complete an assessment which will focus on developing their skills for their future examinations.
