English

In English, students currently follow the Cambridge iGCSE English Language qualification alongside the Edexcel Certificate in English Literature (a GCSE equivalent qualification).

This route allows students to achieve the full range of grades at GCSE and give students the opportunity to gain two GCSEs in English.

Students develop their ability to investigate and analyse language and are encouraged to experiment and use language creatively. The programme for the GCSE is designed to build on students’ skills from KS3 and help them prepare for their future beyond KS4, in both their vocational and academic choices.

Each half-term , students will complete an assessment which will focus on developing their skills for their future examinations.
