Oak School Day Consultation Form

Please find below a copy of a consultation letter sent to all parents regarding proposed changes for the next academic year.

As part of the consultation process, we welcome your views and feedback and thank you to those parents attending the recent Year 8 and 9 Options evenings where some good conversations were had.

Please ensure that should you wish to comment, these are addressed in writing to Richard Burgas, Principal, and received by the 9th June 2017.

Important Letter for Year 10 Parents

Please find below a copy of a letter posted to all Year 10 students of English Literature confirming changes to exam arrangements. To ensure students can achieve the best possible outcomes, students will now complete these exams in Year 11.

Oak Academy Uniform 2017 -2018

Dear Parents,

Thank you for recent communications to the Academy in this regard. I write to confirm that our current uniform will not change for the next academic year and parents can continue to purchase items through the school supplier in the usual way.

For parents of students joining the Academy in September, all enquiries regarding uniform and where it can be purchased should be directed to Miss Wignall, on 01202 774600.

With best wishes,

Richard Burgas

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Oak Academy, a school perfectly placed within the community to deliver high quality teaching and learning. We are a rapidly improving school and I am very proud to work alongside both established and newly appointed colleagues, driven by the shared belief that every student has the right to learn, grow and achieve.

It is this ethos that motivates all members of our community in improving the academic outcomes and life-chances of students. We value collaboration and open communication at all levels and see the relationship between parents, staff and students as crucial to the success of the school.

Promoting a ‘no excuses’ culture of learning, Oak Academy students play a significant role in creating the warm and friendly atmosphere that makes this school so special.

My aim as Principal is to provide a happy, safe and diverse environment; one that challenges all of us to develop as learners so that we feel confident in meeting whatever life holds for the future.

I very much look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school.

Richard Burgas
